How to hide suggested posts on Instagram on iPhone (2026)
We could not find a setting in Instagram's help that turns off suggested posts for good. What Instagram offers: snooze all suggested posts in your Feed for 30 days, switch to the Following feed by tapping the Instagram logo, tap Not interested on posts you don't want, or reset suggested content. If you want suggested posts gone without redoing this every month, open Instagram in an app that hides them. In minulo, hiding suggested posts is free and your DMs keep working.
This page is written by the developer of minulo. Facts about Instagram and iPhone settings come from the sources listed below, checked on 2026-10-23. Menu names can change with app and iOS updates.
| Method | What it does | Limits |
|---|---|---|
| Snooze suggested posts (Options › Not interested) | Pauses all suggested posts in your Feed for 30 days. | Comes back after 30 days. It is about your Feed, so the Reels tab and Explore still show recommendations. |
| Not interested (Options above a post) | Removes that post and shows fewer like it. You can also stop posts from one account or posts with certain words. | Works one post, account or word at a time. |
| Following feed (tap the Instagram logo) | Posts from accounts you follow in time order, with no suggested posts, going back 30 days. | You pick it each time. We could not confirm in Instagram's help a setting that makes it the feed Instagram opens with. |
| Reset suggested content (Settings › Content preferences) | Clears your recommendations across Explore, Reels and Feed so they start fresh. | Suggested posts keep coming and personalize again as you use Instagram. It cannot be undone. |
| iPhone Screen Time | Limits or blocks the whole Instagram app. | It cannot target suggested posts, and blocking the app blocks DMs too. |
| minulo (free) | Opens Instagram with suggested posts hidden. Reels, Explore and Stories can be hidden too, one at a time. DMs keep working. | The official Instagram app itself does not change. minulo can lock it with Screen Time, but its notifications don't arrive while it is locked. |
How to snooze suggested posts for 30 days
- In your Instagram Feed, find a suggested post and tap Options (the three dots) above it.
- Tap Not interested.
- Choose Snooze to pause all suggested posts in your Feed for 30 days.
On the same screen you can also choose Don't suggest posts from an account, Don't suggest posts with certain words, or Manage content preferences. Instagram's help does not describe a way to snooze for longer than 30 days, so you need to do this again when it runs out.
How to switch to the Following feed
Tap the Instagram logo at the top of your Feed and choose Following. Meta says this view shows posts only from accounts you follow, newest first, with no suggested posts, going back 30 days. Favorites in the same menu shows only the accounts you add to your Favorites list.
Hide suggested posts for free with minulo
minulo opens Instagram's official website inside the app. In its Instagram settings you turn on what to hide, one item at a time: suggested posts, Reels and Explore, Stories, or every tab but DMs. Hiding is free and stays on until you turn it off, so there is nothing to redo every 30 days. DMs, posts from people you follow and search keep working.
If you keep opening the official app out of habit, minulo can also lock it with Screen Time and send you to minulo when you tap its icon. That is free for up to 2 hours per block. While the official app is locked, its notifications don't arrive, so lock it only when you can miss them, for example while studying or at night.
Can you turn off suggested posts on Instagram permanently?
We could not find a way in Instagram's help as of October 2026. The longest built-in option is snoozing all suggested posts in your Feed for 30 days, which you need to repeat when it ends. To keep them hidden, open Instagram in an app that hides suggested posts, such as minulo, where this is free.
How do I snooze suggested posts on Instagram for 30 days?
Tap Options (the three dots) above a suggested post in your Feed, tap Not interested, then choose Snooze. All suggested posts in your Feed pause for 30 days.
Does the Following feed get rid of suggested posts?
Yes, while you are in it. Tap the Instagram logo and choose Following to see only posts from accounts you follow, newest first, going back 30 days. The Reels tab and Explore are still there.
Does resetting suggested content stop suggested posts?
No. Reset suggested content clears what Instagram has learned about you across Explore, Reels and Feed, but suggested posts keep appearing and become personalized again as you use the app. It cannot be undone.
How do I hide suggested posts but keep my DMs?
iPhone Screen Time blocks the whole app, DMs included, so it does not help here. Use an app that opens Instagram with suggested posts hidden. In minulo, hiding suggested posts, Reels and Explore is free, and DMs keep working.
