Is TikTok Lite available on iPhone? What to use instead (2026)
TikTok Lite is on the iPhone App Store only in Japan and Korea. TikTok says the data-light TikTok Lite sold in other countries is Android only, and that version still has the For You feed. If what you want is a TikTok with less scrolling, minulo is an iPhone app that opens TikTok with For You hidden while your messages keep working, and hiding For You is free.
TikTok describes TikTok Lite (outside Japan and Korea) as a data-light version of the main app that is faster, uses less data and takes up less storage, and says it is only on Android. On 2026-11-04 we looked up the iPhone app TikTok Lite by TikTok Pte. Ltd. in 23 App Store countries, including the US, UK, Canada, Australia, Germany, France, Brazil, Indonesia and India. It came back only in Japan and Korea. TikTok calls that one a separate version with a Coin tab.
This page is written by Ayumu Kitabayashi, the developer of minulo. Facts about TikTok Lite come from TikTok's ads help and App Store lookups listed below, checked on 2026-11-04. Menu names can change with app and iOS updates.
| Option | Where | What you get | Catch |
|---|---|---|---|
| TikTok Lite (data-light) | Android only, per TikTok | A smaller, faster app that uses less data | Not on iPhone. Still has For You. |
| TikTok Lite (Japan and Korea) | iPhone App Store in Japan and Korea | A version with a Coin tab, per TikTok | Only in those two App Stores |
| The TikTok app | iPhone | Everything, with notifications | We found no setting that turns off For You |
| minulo | iPhone, plus a Mac app | TikTok's website with For You hidden and messages working, for free | We haven't measured its data use |
Steps with minulo
- Install minulo from the App Store.
- Open TikTok inside minulo and log in on TikTok's own login page. minulo does not receive or store your password.
- Tap the gear next to TikTok and turn on Recommendations to hide For You. To keep only your messages, turn on Every tab but DMs.
- Optional: in the Block tab, lock the official TikTok app with Screen Time, free for up to 2 hours per block. Tapping the TikTok icon then shows a block screen with an Open in minulo button.
Hiding For You is free. Messages and Following open straight from the minulo home screen.
Honest limits
- Not a data saver. We haven't measured minulo's data use, so we don't claim it saves data or storage the way TikTok Lite does.
- Notifications. While the official TikTok app is locked, its notifications don't arrive.
- Platforms. minulo runs on iPhone and Mac (the Mac app works in Safari and Chrome), not Android.
Is TikTok Lite available on iPhone?
Only in Japan and Korea, as far as we found. On 2026-11-04 we looked up TikTok Lite (by TikTok Pte. Ltd.) in 23 App Store countries, and it was listed only in Japan and Korea. TikTok says the data-light TikTok Lite sold elsewhere is only for Android.
Does TikTok Lite have a For You page?
The data-light version does. TikTok's ads help lists the For You page, Following, Search and other feeds as places ads appear in TikTok Lite outside Japan and Korea. It is a lighter app, not one without the feed. If you want For You gone on iPhone, minulo opens TikTok with For You hidden while your messages keep working, and hiding is free.
Can I download TikTok Lite from another country's App Store?
We don't recommend region switching or APK sites. TikTok Lite in Japan and Korea is a version for those countries; TikTok says that version has a Coin tab, which is unique to Japan and Korea.
Does minulo use less data than TikTok?
We haven't measured it, so we don't claim it. minulo is for hiding For You and the other feeds, not for saving data.
