What News Feed Eradicator does
Its Chrome Web Store listing describes a Chrome extension that removes the feed, which it calls the most addicting part of Facebook, Twitter and other social networks, and puts an inspiring quote in its place, while the rest of each site keeps working. The listing doesn't give a full list of sites, and it doesn't mention iPhone, Safari or an App Store app.
Why iPhone needs a different approach
A browser extension changes web pages. The official Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram apps aren't web pages, and no app can remove the feed from inside them. minulo opens each network's official website inside its own app and hides the parts you choose, and it can lock the official apps with Screen Time so tapping the usual icon takes you to the quieter version instead.
The feed switches by network are in the table above. You can change what is hidden at any time, and everything you leave on works like the network's website. Hiding is free on all 10 networks with no time limit. minulo Pro adds schedules, Hard Mode, blocks longer than 2 hours and multiple block lists.
On a computer
If News Feed Eradicator works for you in Chrome, keep it there. minulo also has a Mac app that works in Safari and Chrome. To use it in Chrome, install the Mac app first, then add the Chrome extension from inside the Mac app. The Mac app is in Japanese for now.
Limits, so you can decide honestly: hidden parts are hidden only inside minulo, and the official apps don't change. While minulo blocks an official app, that app's notifications don't arrive, and minulo sends none of its own. Posting Stories, voice messages and calls aren't available. minulo is for iPhone, with a Mac version that works in Safari and Chrome, and there is no Android version yet. It is new, with few ratings.
