How to remove Marketplace from the Facebook app on iPhone (2026)
You can take Marketplace off the Facebook tab bar: open Settings & privacy, then Settings, Tab bar, Customize the bar, and set Marketplace to Hide.
That only changes the tab bar. We found no setting in Facebook's help that turns Marketplace off for your account. If you want it gone from the screen, minulo hides Marketplace for free when you open Facebook inside it, and notifications and messages keep working.
- In the Facebook app, tap Menu on the tab bar and choose Settings & privacy, then Settings, then Tab bar.
- Tap Customize the bar, tap the dropdown next to Marketplace and select Hide.
- In minulo, tap Add a service, choose Facebook, tap the gear and turn on Marketplace.
- In minulo's Block tab, choose the official Facebook app, free for up to 2 hours per block.

Hide the Marketplace shortcut from the tab bar
Facebook's help on personalizing the tab bar covers the iPhone and Android apps. Tap Menu on the tab bar, choose Settings & privacy, tap Settings, then Tab bar, and tap Customize the bar. Each shortcut has a dropdown with Pin, Auto and Hide. Choose Hide for Marketplace.
Facebook says you can't remove Notifications or Facebook home from the tab bar. If what bothers you is the red dot, Facebook says you can tap and hold a shortcut and tap Turn off notification dots.
What hiding the shortcut doesn’t do
The help page is about the tab bar only. It doesn't say Marketplace disappears from the rest of the app, and we found no setting in Facebook's help that turns Marketplace off for your account. Facebook's Marketplace help lists a separate article on turning Marketplace notifications on or off, which we could not open, so we don't give those steps here.
Hide Marketplace with minulo
minulo opens Facebook's own website inside the app and hides the items you turn on. Marketplace is one of them, next to Hide Reels, Watch and Marketplace, Hide suggested posts, the Home feed and the "Open app" banner. Notifications, Messages, Friends and Feed open straight from the minulo home screen. Hiding is free with no time limit.
If you keep opening the official app, lock it in minulo's Block tab. Its icon then shows a blocked screen with an Open in minulo button. Blocking is free for up to 2 hours per block, and schedules and Hard Mode are in minulo Pro.
Limits, so you can decide honestly: hidden parts are hidden only inside minulo, and the official apps don't change. While minulo blocks an official app, that app's notifications don't arrive, and minulo sends none of its own. minulo is for iPhone, with a Mac version that works in Safari and Chrome, and there is no Android version yet. It is new, with few ratings. See what minulo can't do.
Can you remove Marketplace from the Facebook app?
You can hide its shortcut from the tab bar: Settings & privacy, Settings, Tab bar, Customize the bar, then Hide. We found no setting in Facebook's help that turns Marketplace off entirely.
Why can’t I remove Notifications or Home from the tab bar?
Facebook's help says those two can't be removed. The other shortcuts can be pinned, set to Auto or hidden.
How do I get rid of the red dot on Marketplace?
Facebook says you can tap and hold a shortcut and tap Turn off notification dots.
Does hiding Marketplace delete my listings or messages?
Hiding the shortcut changes only the tab bar, and hiding it in minulo changes only what you see inside minulo. Neither is described as deleting anything.
Can I hide Marketplace and Reels at the same time?
Yes, in minulo. Marketplace, Reels and Watch, suggested posts and the Home feed are separate switches in the same menu, and hiding them is free.
