minulo

minulo vs Stillfeed: two iPhone apps that hide Reels and Shorts and keep your DMs (2026)

Stillfeed and minulo work the same way: you log in to Instagram or YouTube inside the app, and Reels, Explore and Shorts are removed there while your DMs keep working. The differences are how many networks they cover, whether a messages-only view costs money, and what happens with the official apps.

This page is written by the developer of minulo. Stillfeed facts come from its US App Store description and its website (stillfeed.pages.dev), checked 2026-10-20. Features and prices can change.

Pick Stillfeed if

  • you only use Instagram and YouTube and want an app built just for those two;
  • you want a listing that spells out exactly what is removed on YouTube, down to Shorts in search results and /shorts/ links;
  • you like a weekly count of what was blocked;
  • you want the official apps left alone, with Stillfeed asking before it opens them.

Pick minulo if

  • you also use TikTok, Snapchat, X, Threads or another network beyond Instagram and YouTube;
  • you want Instagram for DMs only without paying;
  • you keep falling back into the official app, and want its icon to lead to the Reels-free version instead.

Which one should a student who needs Instagram for group chats use?

Both keep Instagram DMs while Reels are hidden, and that part is free in both. If you want Instagram to show nothing but messages, Stillfeed's DMs Only is part of Pro, while minulo's Every tab but DMs setting is free. If you only use Instagram and YouTube, Stillfeed covers what you need.

Does Stillfeed work with TikTok?

TikTok is not mentioned on its App Store page, which lists Instagram and YouTube. In minulo, TikTok's For You feed is hidden and messages keep working; there is also a DMs-only setting for TikTok.

What happens when I tap the real Instagram icon?

Stillfeed says its blocking happens inside its own browser, not inside Instagram's app, and locking the official app is not mentioned on its App Store page, so the official app opens as usual. minulo can lock the official app with Screen Time; tapping the icon shows a block screen with an Open in minulo button that leads to Instagram without Reels.

Which one is more established?

Both are new. Stillfeed has been on the App Store since July 2026 and minulo since September 2026. Neither had any US App Store ratings on 2026-10-20.
