minulo vs noShorts: which app to hide Reels and Shorts on iPhone (2026)

Pick minulo if you want Reels, Shorts and For You gone on 10 networks, including Threads and Pinterest: hiding is free, with no subscription and no time limit, your DMs keep working, and there is a Mac app for Safari and Chrome. noShorts fits better if you'd rather pay once ($4.99) than subscribe to get daily limits and quiet hours, or if you use Bluesky or Tumblr.

noShorts: No Short Videos is an app by Tillo Belfa, first released on the US App Store on 2026-10-14 (in Brazil it is listed as noShorts: Sem Vídeos Curtos). Like minulo, it opens social networks inside its own app: Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, Snapchat, Facebook and X, plus Reddit, Bluesky, Tumblr and LinkedIn when you add them. It takes out Reels, Shorts, the For You feed and Spotlight, and it can block the networks' own apps with Screen Time and send you to noShorts instead. Its description says everything that blocks short videos is free for good.

This page is written by the developer of minulo, so keep that in mind. noShorts facts come from its US App Store page (version 1.5, released 2026-11-03), checked 2026-11-05. Features and prices can change.

Pick noShorts if

  • you want daily limits and quiet hours for a one-time $4.99 instead of a subscription;
  • you use Bluesky or Tumblr;
  • you want to use it on an iPad;
  • you want grayscale, Face ID before a setting is loosened, or several accounts for one network (Pro);
  • you want Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets or Shortcuts actions.

Pick minulo if

  • you use Threads or Pinterest and want their feeds hidden;
  • you want your DMs kept, with a DMs-only setting for Instagram and TikTok;
  • you want a Mac app as well, for Safari and Chrome;
  • you want Sleep mode, Work mode or Hard Mode (Pro).

Both apps show each network's website, so screens look a little different from the official apps. noShorts is newer than minulo and had no US ratings when checked.

Is noShorts free?

Yes, for blocking. Its description says everything that blocks short videos is free for good. noShorts Pro ($4.99 in the US, one payment, no subscription) adds daily limits, quiet hours, grayscale, older Insights, a Face ID or code check before settings are loosened, several accounts per network and choosing the page each network opens at. In minulo, hiding Reels, Shorts and suggested posts is free, with no subscription and no time limit, and your DMs keep working. Sleep mode, Work mode, Hard Mode, a Daily limit and blocks longer than 2 hours are part of Pro, which is $9.99 a month or $39.99 a year in the US. minulo Pro is monthly or yearly only; there is no one-time purchase.

Which networks does noShorts cover?

Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, Snapchat, Facebook and X, plus Reddit, Bluesky and Tumblr when you add them; LinkedIn was added in version 1.5. Threads and Pinterest are not mentioned on its App Store page. minulo covers Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, X, Threads, Facebook, Pinterest, Reddit, LinkedIn and Snapchat.

Do my DMs still work?

In minulo, yes: DMs stay, and Instagram and TikTok have a free setting that hides everything but DMs. noShorts' App Store page says you use each network as usual with the short-video feeds taken out, but it does not mention DMs specifically.
