minulo vs FeedOff: which free app to hide Shorts and Reels on iPhone (2026)

Pick minulo if you use TikTok, Threads, Facebook, Pinterest or Snapchat, or want the same on a Mac: it hides Reels, Shorts and For You on 10 networks while your DMs and normal videos keep working, and hiding is free (Pro is paid). If you only use Instagram, YouTube, X, Reddit and LinkedIn, FeedOff also does this for free, with no in-app purchases.

FeedOff: Block Reels & Shorts is an iPhone app by Peter Khalil, released on the App Store on 2026-10-01. It opens Instagram, YouTube, X, Reddit and LinkedIn in its own browser with Reels, Shorts, Explore, For You, suggested posts, ads and autoplay hidden, and its Shield can block the real apps, including TikTok, with Screen Time. minulo works the same basic way, showing each network's website inside the app, but covers 10 networks and hides the feed on TikTok too instead of only blocking it.

This page is written by the developer of minulo, so keep that in mind. FeedOff facts come from its US App Store page (version 1.0.4, released 2026-10-28) and its website (feedoff.app), checked 2026-11-04. Features and prices can change.

Pick FeedOff if

  • you only need Instagram, YouTube, X, Reddit and LinkedIn;
  • you want every feature free, with no subscription at all;
  • you want widgets in place of the real app icons, or grayscale per app;
  • you want notifications from blocked apps to keep arriving;
  • you want to read the filter rules yourself on GitHub.

Pick minulo if

  • you use TikTok, Threads, Facebook, Pinterest or Snapchat and want their feeds hidden, not the whole app blocked;
  • you want a DMs-only setting for Instagram or TikTok;
  • you use a Mac;
  • you want the app in Japanese, Korean or another language besides English.

Both apps show each network's website rather than the official app, so screens look a little different from the app. While minulo locks an official app, that app's notifications don't arrive.

Is FeedOff free?

Yes. Its App Store listing says FeedOff has no subscription, no in-app purchases and no ads, and the US App Store lists it as free (checked 2026-11-04). In minulo, hiding Reels, Shorts and suggested posts is also free; Sleep mode, blocks longer than 2 hours, Hard Mode and a Daily limit are part of Pro, which is $9.99 a month or $39.99 a year in the US.

Can FeedOff or minulo hide YouTube Shorts and keep normal videos?

Both can. FeedOff opens YouTube on your Subscriptions page with the Shorts shelf, Shorts tab, Home recommendations and autoplay hidden, and you can still search and watch any video. minulo shows YouTube's website inside the app with Shorts hidden, and normal videos and search keep working. Neither app changes the official YouTube app; both can block it with Screen Time instead.

Which one should I pick if I use TikTok, Threads or Facebook?

minulo. FeedOff's browser covers Instagram, YouTube, X, Reddit and LinkedIn, and for TikTok it can only block the whole app with its Shield. minulo shows TikTok, Threads, Facebook, Pinterest and Snapchat with their feeds hidden, and keeps TikTok messages working. If you only use FeedOff's five networks, FeedOff does the job for free.
