How to hide YouTube comments on iPhone (2026)
minulo hides YouTube comments on iPhone for free: open YouTube inside minulo, turn on Comments, and videos play without the comment section.
YouTube Help's comment settings are for creators, who can turn comments on, pause them or turn them off on their own videos. We found no setting there for viewers to hide comments on videos they watch. minulo's switch works only inside minulo, so the official YouTube app still shows comments.
- Install minulo, tap Add a service and choose YouTube.
- Tap the gear next to YouTube and turn on Comments. Shorts and Home recommendations can be hidden the same way.
- Open videos from Subscriptions, Watch later or search.
- In the Block tab, choose the official YouTube app, free for up to 2 hours per block.

What YouTube's own comment settings do
YouTube Help's page on comment settings is written for channel owners. A creator can choose to turn comments on, pause them or turn them off for a specific video, and can hide particular users across all videos on the channel. When a creator turns comments off, viewers can't comment on that video. Those are the creator's choices. The page doesn't describe any option for you, as a viewer, to hide comments on other people's videos.
Hide comments with minulo
minulo opens YouTube's own website inside the app and hides the items you turn on. Comments is one of them, next to Shorts, Home recommendations and Everything on home but search. Subscriptions, Watch later and search keep working. You can change what is hidden at any time, so you can turn comments back on when you want to read them. Hiding is free with no time limit.
The comments are hidden only on your screen. Other people still see them, and the creator's settings don't change.
Other YouTube settings that help
To stop the next video from starting by itself, tap your profile picture, then Settings, then turn off Autoplay. Google says autoplay can be set differently on each device. For Shorts, see whether you can turn off YouTube Shorts.
Limits, so you can decide honestly: hidden parts are hidden only inside minulo, and the official apps don't change. While minulo blocks an official app, that app's notifications don't arrive, and minulo sends none of its own.
