FeedLite, listed on the App Store as “FeedLite - Block Reels&Shorts” and made by RCF LLC, calls itself a digital filter rather than a blocker. Instead of locking you out of Instagram and YouTube, it removes Reels, Stories, Explore and Shorts so you can still use Instagram for messages and YouTube for searches. Its settings let you turn each part on or off separately.

This page is written by the developer of minulo, so keep that in mind. Pick FeedLite if

  • you only use Instagram and YouTube;
  • you also want to hide Instagram Stories, Instagram videos or your YouTube subscriptions;
  • you want to see a count of the scrolls you avoided;
  • you use an iPad.

Pick minulo if

  • you need TikTok, X, Threads, Facebook, Pinterest, Reddit, LinkedIn or Snapchat without the feed;
  • you want hiding to be free;
  • you want to lock the official apps with Screen Time and open the Reels-free version instead;
  • you use a Mac, or want the app in a language other than English.

minulo shows each network's website rather than the official app, so screens look a little different from the app. While minulo locks an official app, that app's notifications don't arrive.
